Wild & Still dance retreat

14-16 Dec

Let winter slow down your body.
Dive into silence.
The year sinks in.
Let it dance, let it sing…

Together we share and celebrate life, through dance, singing and silence. We will connect with ourselves, with each other and the peaceful nature around us.

This compact and affordable retreat with silent mornings will serve you sessions of:

– dance improvisation, – contact improvisation
– contact tango
– bodywork
– walking, sitting, singing meditation

All levels of experience are welcome.

The retreat will take place at de Uilenspieghel, a retreat center in Drenthe in the middle of the peaceful nature, close to the forest and hidden lakes.

Kristien Sonnevijlle is a dancer/vocalist with a background in physical theater. Specialized in improvisation as a performing art, ‘instant composition’. An independant artist active in several constellations creating performances, spontaneous and more choreographed work. Summers in France and winters in India were spent in meditation retreats. For Kristien, movement, vocal work and meditation are deeply connected and inform each other. Japanese butoh dance helped her to further develop this connection.

Since 2009 she offers movement retreats with dance, voice, bodywork and meditation, in collaboration with other teachers/facilitators. Teaching, her improvisation skills and careful listening enable her to be in tune with what is needed in a group (process) and for the individual. Her classes have been described as ‘deep play’, moving work brought in a light way. She is also a bio dynamic Cranio Sacral therapist.
